National Bed Month 2022 at Dial-A-Mattress

Posted on - 22nd March 2022

The month of March is widely known as national bed month in the UK. Much like last year; we look at all things bed related and subsequently celebrate them.

The month of March in the UK is widely known as national bed month. Dial-A-Mattress being a well established mattress in Telford; we understand the important roles beds play in our daily lives. This is why national bed month is so important to us; it is a whole month dedicated to all things bed related.

Last year we detailed the different ways you can improve your sleeping practises as well as showcasing the various ways you can celebrate national bed month.

While many of these still might ring very true, we would like to highlight more ways you can celebrate national bed month.

Perform A Digital Detox

When we last celebrated national bed month in 2021 there were varying degrees of COVID restrictions. As such, many of us were heavily reliant on digital forms of social interactions. This saw record numbers of user screen times.

Fast forward to 2022, we are less reliant on digital forms of communication. Because of this; we might suggest that you enact a general digital detox. You can do this by significantly limiting your screen time or completely removing the screens entirely.

By performing a digital detox; you not only allow for more time to catch up on sleep but you make getting to sleep much easier. This is because screens emit a blue light from the screen; this restrains the production of melatonin which is much harder to fall asleep and even wake up the next morning.

Spend The Whole Day in Bed

In 2021, many of us were forced to take unwanted bed days. This was largely due to the aforementioned COVID restrictions, however; we implore you to take a welcomed return to this pastime.

Your lazy bed day can entail just lying in bed all day, having food in bed and binge watching your new favourite television show. Having a bed day can be one of the best ways to improve your mental health, relieve stress as well as getting the most out of your bed.

Change Your Sheets More Often

Following on from our most recent point; if you are spending significantly more time in bed you will want to change your sheets more frequently.

Whilst studies have shown that most people change their sheets on a fortnightly basis; it is actually advised that you change them on a weekly basis. You might even want to change them more often if you are spending more time in your bed.

How Are You Celebrating National Bed Month?
