Once unboxed, the mattress will take between 24-72 hours to fully expand. Most of the initial expansion takes only 4-6 hours. In fact, the mattress can expand up to 90% of its full capacity in this time. That being said, it is advised to wait up to 24 hours for the mattress to fully expand and therefore you should not sleep on the mattress until at least 24 hours have passed. 

Can A Memory Foam Mattress Be Cut? 

Exactly why you want to cut your mattress should be evaluated before you carry out the procedure. Afterall, if the process is carried out incorrectly, it can permanently damage your mattress.

What Is Memory Foam Made From? 

The material known as memory foam has a unique and layered texture. Because this texture is so unique, many people are intrigued as to what the material is actually made of. Without getting too technical, the material is actually made of a polyurethane plastic. 

Polyurethane plastic is technically two chemicals blended together. The two chemicals are referred to as monols and polyols. When they are mixed together, the exothermic reaction then commences whereby the chemicals combine to make a liquid. This liquid is then used to make the material we all know.
